Companies and organization see employees as one of its resources. To achieve company’s goal, the employer always strategize the workers to gain maximum efficiency. One of the ideas to meet this ambition in through empowering workers. Ettorre (1997) defines empowerment as employees having autonomous decision making capabilities and acting as partners in the business, all with an eye on the bottom line.

The essential of empowering workers is to get the best out of workers. With the concept, workers will work with different mentality, rather than just coming to office from 9-5 and do what ever being told, empowering workers encourage enterprising at executing tasks as well as treating employees as an asset to deliver best performance to drive the organization to its mission.

Caudron (1995, p. 34) provides the following characteristics of an organization’s environment that supports empowered employees:

The workplace has established self-directed teams.

Superiors freely share information about the company’s directions and goals with the entire employee base.

Employees receive training needed to achieve goals, whether specific work skills or educational issues, such as time management or leadership.

Employees continually develop new work skills.

Managers understand and respect the challenges of an empowering workplace by performing more as coaches instead of bosses. They empower gradually and systematically as team members are ready and do not expect or push for immediate results.

Employees are in control of the resources needed to meet their goals.

The company provides measurements to ensure idea effectiveness of the teams.

Team members are treated to continual positive feedback and reinforcement.

With this idea, another approach may be done in order to make the workers and their working environment at best potential to gain maximum result.

Website is a waste of revenue if they can’t generate leads or fulfills ROI. Therefore, it is important to have some effort on marketing for your website. To have a website is not enough nowadays, especially when the internet is getting bigger and bigger each second, and existing website floating like bubble in the sea.

But what if you don’t have any IT department or specialist in online marketing. It is true that online marketing is quite different from traditional marketing, but it doesn’t mean that you can’t make your own initiative in web marketing.

The following point will inspire you on how to start having more visitor to your website and increase bounce rate, thus, could increase the probability of having more prospective clients or customers.

Make Use of Every Materials

Whether just a plain promotional flyer, a simple banner or even official receipt, put your website on them. It don’t have to be big and bold either. Simply put at any corner of the layout. When customer really interested to know about you, they will find any information you put including web addresses.

Engage User to Contribute

It is simply by having some competition with worthy prizes. Research a bit about what is your main customer demographic to know what kind of prizes could make them interested. Make the competition feels like it is related to customer’s life or their experience of using the product or services. You could send a flyer or advertise on paper and tell them to log on to your website to join.

Sharing Useful Article in Website

You don’t really have to write a story to fill contents of the web. Finds some magazine related to your business, digest it and rewrite it in your own language. By doing this, visitor from search engine such as Google finding particular keywords could stumble across your website and later finds your product or services is what they are after. In this case, keyword is an important aspect on how to be seen by search engine. Just keep in mind to write better for visitor and not for search engine.

Online Customer Service

Prepare a detailed Frequently Asked Question (FAQ) and manuals of your product on the web. This way, you can ask them to simply visit your website for some help or troubleshooting. Ask web specialist to make online feedback form to handle customer complaint. Once they discover your website, it is possible that they will bookmark it for future reference.

Give Some Freebies

People love freebies. No doubt about it. Ask them to log on into web first and leave some contact information to get the freebies. Well what kind of freebies you can give that can be remembered by them? A desk calendar, a key chain, or simply a catalog of your products. Customers will feel appreciated and pleased when you care about them.

Conclusion

Web marketing shouldn’t be all about playing and hacking search engine to get better ranking or creating optimized landing page. We believe that web marketing should be balanced in off-line and on-line medium. Just remember that if you don’t come to the prospect, they wont come to you.

Many companies and organizations complained that they are facing challenges to develop their workers to work proactively and innovatively to achieve the company’s missions and goals, and due to this scenario, companies and organizations can’t gain their utmost performance and generate maximum profit. In other hand, the attitude of feeling ‘comfortable’ for what they already have in manner-they can eat, live and enjoy well, what for struggling and troubling themselves for improvement?

However towards companies and organizations, it is very important to continuously enhance their performance, both at management and at products or services provided to gain maximum profit to the company and indirectly fulfill the reason for its existence. One of the very important element to look into is the people themselves whom the ‘operator’ of the entire business activity.

Hence, today the world is talking on a logical and may be the proactive and effective solution for this scenario, developing workers to be enterprising and have the ‘entrepreneur factor’ at performing their work. Maybe these are some tips for manager in developing their subordinates at becoming more entrepreneurial at thinking & behavioral;

Make Everyone Feel like a Business Partner

Encouraging an entrepreneurial mindset goes beyond profit sharing and stock options. It’s a motivating attitude instilled in others by you, the manager. We see this attitude demonstrated and translated into profits in companies such as Hewlett- Packard, Southwest Airlines, Nordstrom, Intel, Starbucks, Wal-Mart, Microsoft, and hundreds of smaller companies, where employees are motivated to take exceptional pride in their work because they’re treated like business partners, not hired help.

You begin by understanding and acknowledging that employees today want a say in how the organization is being run. Their input can be extremely powerful, especially if they know and understand how the organization operates. By the way you interact with employees, you can help them begin thinking as entrepreneurs and feel more accountable for the organization meeting its goals.

5 Steps to Creating Entrepreneurial Thinkers

There are five steps you as a manager can take to help your employees think and act more like entrepreneurs on the job:

Explain The Organization
If employees understand about the organization and their role in it, they can feel similarly motivated and much more likely to develop a positive attitude toward their jobs and their fellow employees.

Demonstrate How The Organization Operates and Generates Income
When employees become aware of how the organization runs and how it spends and brings in money, they become more motivated to help make a difference. When you help your employees think in terms of the big picture and understand the domino effect of every action they take, you begin to instill in them an entrepreneurial mindset that creates a winning and motivated organization. You want to develop smart, skilled, and highly motivated employees who understand their role in helping the organization succeed.

Help Your Employees Understand the Competition
When employees pull together to compete in the marketplace, their level of motivation rises when they understand just who and what they are competing against. Nothing brings a team together in tighter cooperation than the challenge of performing at higher and higher levels than its competitors, helping the organization to grow as a result.

Encourage Intelligent Risk-taking
Management should help employees try new ways of doing their work, of experimenting to make improvements, and encourage and support them in taking those risks. “We want you to feel empowered and take risks—just don’t screw up!”

Inspire Innovative Thinking
When organizations survive and thrive, it’s generally because managers know how to change with their situations—and sometimes keep ahead of the changes around them. That’s certainly so when they allow or even encourage innovative thinking among their employees. That means that managers need to help their employees feel motivated to try different things.

Entrepreneurship is not a trait that is inherent in an individual. It has to be cultivated over a period of time. Therefore if you want your employees to put more of themselves into their work, help them find more of themselves in it.

Keep in mind, then, this basic idea: if you want your employees to be motivated to do their best, help them feel as if they control their jobs, as if they belong to a community, and—most of all—as if they own the business.

Encouraging entrepreneurial thinking among can change their attitude towards the organization and themselves. This can get translated into a positive work atmosphere leading to employee satisfaction and profit for the organization.Entrepreneurial thinking is important today in order to tackle increased and sophisticated competition, enable change and facilitate an environment that brings out the best in an employee.

So, if every employee is dedicated to perform his best, definitely the company will earn its missions and aims! Imagine having entrepreneurs under one roof to make the company work; it will definitely GROWS your company!

The Event Manager is the person who plans and executes the event. Event managers and their teams are often behind-the-scenes running the event.
Client Service

Brief clarification

Budget drafting

Cash flow management

Supply chain identification

Procurement, Scheduling

Site design

Technical design

Health and Safety

An Event Manager who becomes involved closer to the event will often have a more limited brief. The key disciplines closer to the event are:

Health & Safety

Crowd management

Logistics

Rigging

Sound

Light
